  1. Myself and a couple friends are looking at going to pinehurst resort in June. Any recommendations on courses to play other than 2, 4, 10, tobacco and mid pines? Any recommendations for things to do other than golf if we stay on the resort? We will probably rent a car as well. Appreciate it!

Southern Pines CC is my second favorite off resort course, behind Tobacco Road.

There are a several breweries in the Village, and also Southern Pines.

The World Golf Hall of Fame is now open just outside of the main clubhouse. That would be worth the visit.

When visiting Pinehurst, I always look forward to playing Pine Needles GC and highly recommend ending a day at Dugan's Pub for dinner and the best bread pudding around.

Pine Needles was a great find for me when we played there in the mid 90’s, just before it hosted the women’s open.

The Cradle is a nice low key experience. #1 (Ross’ first course) is fun and will remind you of an old turn of the last century country club course layout. Six, seven, eight and nine are all located off property but each represents a unique challenge. 8 gets the most notice and seven is considered the members course. All are a worthwhile experience, mostly reserved for hotel guests. For rounds after the round the Pine Crest offers an historic atmosphere in the bar and on the front porch. Food Is also pretty good.
