    Hi all after your thoughts

When I was young I coveted the footjoy classics but way out of my range

I finally got my first pair of new old stock

    See picture

So before the first time I wear them do I polish them with clear polish, leave them alone? Do i mars oil the soles before I play the first time or after?

I might just put them on a shelf after all they are a work of art

  2. Quality is timeless!
  3. Andy,
If you decide to take the plunge and wear them, you might be advised to have some Compeed in your bag...
As I remember, they were not as "ready to wear" as modern, softer golf shoes and gave me some wicked blisters!!

Lovely shoes and timeless. Wish we could still get them.
  5. Classics - love them. I’ve a pair of footjoy dryjoy tours that I’ve been saving for a while - think they may get a outing over Easter weekend as weather expected to be 21’c here in KENT!!

The best golf shoes ever by a long way, I still have a number of pairs that I wear, one still boxed which I've yet to wear. I agree with JT they take a bit of breaking in so I'd take steps to break them in before going 18 holes in them.
I managed to pick them up on eBay when they were available at a reasonable price.

I treat the soles with Mars Neetsfoot oil before I wear them for the first time, I found this helps protect the leather from the elements and I definitely would put plenty of white polish to help keep them in the best condition.

I remember you used to be able to buy close outs from the States at a bargain prices, especially when the exchange rate was very favourable, I'd buy them four at a time and sell three pairs on eBay which would cover the cost of the fourth pair for me!
