  1. I like the look of them. They look clean and simple. These could be the finishing items to my bag for a couple of years
  2. Initially when I saw them I didn't like them but they've definitely grown on me.

It's at address I'm more interested in which I haven't seen any pics.

So the last couple of iterations have had the CG moved around by virtue of the different head designs, depending on the loft of the club. The official line on this has been that as players opened up the face of the higher lofts, their strike would would typically move higher up the face, therefore necessitating a movement of CG to ensure quality of strike and consistency of distance and control. This looks to have been completely abandoned with the new version so I’d be really interested to hear what the rationale behind that was. Have Titleist discovered that this prior theory has now been disproved, or flawed? Or something else?

I think its still there just a little more subtle. If you look at the attached picture, notice where the SM8 line is, look at the difference in each wedge around the line. It looks like there is still some CG / weight distribution technology in there but not as visual.

Will be interested to see what the official line is.

  5. On further examination, I wondered what happened to the little Spin Milled gearwheel logo thingamybob - I'd become quite attached to that little fella.... Maybe he'll be on the production model.... or maybe not.

    What has he done!!!

If I get these the Mrs will easily see that I've bought new wedges...can't we have a wedgeworks version that look like the 7, 6 and 5's???

They do look the biz though.
  7. I'd be interested to see what price they are.

    I heard $200.

Quite a hike if it's true.

I currently play Scratch Golf wedges I had custom made in 2012. They need replacing and Vokey provides the best choice of grinds. I am just going to wait for the SM8's to come out.

A raw finish for retail would be great. I think the SM8’s would look great in the bag, but there is plenty of life in my current set of wedges. The visible design for higher/lower CoG from SM6 and SM7 does not appear to be followed through in the new range.
  12. From what I heave heard they have moved the CoG outside the club head, in front of the face, by weighting the hosel and I think high in the toe. All to apparently improve flight and spin.

The more I view these new SM8's, the more I love the mix of classic and modern looks. Plenty of fun to be had customising the heads too.

  16. Hi Luke
Any plans for TT fitting days for the new SM8s?
I know some if not all last year's planned sessions were affected by the weather.
  17. Time for my old sm6,s to get updated soon. So will be looking to put these in the bag
  18. If it's rumoured to be March 1st, then they are going straight in the bag - will change the gapping from what I have now (50/54/58) to 52 and 56 or 58. Love the way they look

It would be great to see some reviews from folks who’ve had a chance to put SM8 wedges in the bag. The grooves in my SM6/7 combo are probably still too fresh to justify replacing the set, but I’m looking for a 58.04 in SM8 and can’t seem to find this option. I play a links course that gets firm in the summer. My SM7 58.08 is fine in winter, but I don’t love it when it gets firm underfoot. Is there a 58.04 in SM8?
