Well, after an enforced complete layoff from golf for the last six months, I’m now making the first tentative steps back to playing again.... At the start of the year, my joints started to become increasingly painful and a related skin condition also worsened. Things got so bad that I had to stop playing, ceased membership and I have played only 9 holes since March. Things got so bad I had to walk with a stick! After enduring 6 weeks of hell clearing previous medication from my system, I’ve now been on something called Humira for a month. Things are slowly getting better and I’m walking ok and starting to swing a club again. Range session planned for this week with the aim of getting back in course next weekend!!

  2. Steve,
Pleased to hear that you are both feeling better and back swinging your clubs.
You could be just in time for the best winter morning so far (tomorrow).
Nice to have you back and contributing.

    Grindelwald,

    good luck for your recovery!
Currently also away from golf due to heavy back pain - will take it a bit easier over the winter with tons of gym work to strengthen muscles
  5. Glad your getting back to swinging it again.

Take it easy, small steps maybe just half wedges to start and really get the feeling back with out wearing yourself out.

All the best for the course
  6. I know exactly how you feel. After having major surgery for cancer twice over the last four years, it's great to get back into golf again.
Each time I was only allowed to chip golf balls three months after surgery and no full shots for six months.
But, the silver lining is that my short game has improved immensely.
Every day another step to full recovery.

Good luck with your recovery. Take it slowly. do not rush it. Have fun getting back to where you were.

Glad to hear of your progress. Hopefully you'll be back on the course soon and we'll see you at TT days in 2020.
