  1. Most likely because of this recent lockdown I’ve purchased a Garmin G80. However when I’ve been looking for a suitable net I keep finding bad reviews on various different nets. I’m after a net where I’m able to use actual balls but knowing I won’t put a hole in it and kill a dog further down my street. Does anyone have any recommendations?

  2. I bought 20m x 3m of scaffolding net pretty cheaply, I was going to double that over several times and also hang it with a duvet cover. I will have about 6 layers of netting plus the sheet. The amount of layers I will have should hold, even if it starts to go through I will have warning and it wont blitz through the whole lot in one shot. I am only going to be going to 8 iron though due to ceiling heights

I’ve got the Quickplay 8x8 net, super quick to put up and down.
Used it quite a bit and no wear so far as the net is loose and takes the impact slowly.
Certain nets will probably be out of stock with the lockdown.
  4. Nathan,
If you are feeling energetic, you can build your own...
If you look up The Average Golfer on YouTube, he built one in his back garden and he sets out what he bought.
Depends what you want, how much space you have and how much you are prepared to pay!

I just purchased the quick play net. Is anybody using a launch monitor, like Mevo or voiceccaddie?
  7. I'm using the Mevo, whilst hitting into a net. Works fine on the proviso that there is 8 feet between ball and net and you have at least 6 feet of space beind to place the Mevo.

Personally, I'm finding it useful for dialling in wedge yardages and trying to hit numbers. Given the yardage is estimated I'm not sure how accurate it is for longer clubs however.

Nothing I can think of, straight forward to put up about 90 seconds, same for dismantling. Comes with a carry bag so if you want to take it anywhere is easily carried. Price was £72 I think for the 8 x 8 foot.
  12. As this lockdown looks like it could be until March :( :( possibly not even able to get onto a course until end of March, I was looking into these nets - father in law has one and he picked up an old driving range matt from when his local was doing up the range and he swears by them!

Just scared as I have a new build and not the biggest garden in the world so scared a ball could go crashing into a neighbours garden!

Was looking at launch monitors dont have the money to smash 2k on one but was looking at the Rapsodo MLM and flight scope mevo - anyone use any of these with your nets?

Archery netting is ideal for use in a confined space, super strong from iron to driver.
  15. Hi... I've been using a SkyTrak for a few years now and used normal golf impact netting but I have seen holes appear and I had to double it up.

Recently bought an archery grade baffle net and they are brilliant - nothing is going through that so really recommend. I got it on Networldsports.co.uk (maybe .com). and it was about £80 for a 3m x 2m which I though was good value.

    Hope it helps :o)

    Hi all.

Built this on lockdown 1. Since then used the conduit though found a solution. Argos do £20 goal and the net I have already will just thread on the bars.

I’ll put some photos on when it stops raining abs I put it together, but with the net think it’s stood me in about £40.

  17. Hi,

Check net idea, paint/dust sheets work well. I have used these with a net in the garage.

I used a hook on one wall and ran a length of rope across to the other side and attached it to a turnbuckle for tension. hasn't let me down since the first lock down last march!
