  1. Hey,

Does anybody have any comparative experience with TS vs TSi Drivers? More specifically the TS2 Model?

I have had TS2 for about 18 months now and it's been my favourite driver however I'm aware of the new technology in the TSi2 could give it an advantage over TS2?

Has anybody tested both? Whether it's on course or with launch monitor? If so, what did you conclude?

    Thanks, Peter

  2. Peter,
Sorry, as far as drivers go, I'm a TS3/TSi3. However, both with them and the Fairways (where I have had TS2 & TSi2) I have fitted differently in the new generation. I've gone for a slightly shorter, less firm shaft (Tensei Raw Blue) and find the fairways easier to get airborne and to fly higher. Previously I was in Project X Hzrdus Smoke and have definitely benefitted from the change. I tested them on Trackman in the fitting studio and from the grass at the range but not on course.
Have to say, I find the TSi's easier to launch, though that could be due to a more appropriate fit.
The advice, as ever, is to get properly fitted... You won't get all the opportunities otherwise.

  3. I was lucky enough to try a fitting for the TSi the day before the press release at St Ives.

Great bunch of chaps was very good and professional when I was there especially in the middle of pandemic.

But I currently game a TS2 8.5 Driver in the Tensei stiff shaft and after the fit for the TSi no matter how hard Paul tried he could not beat my total distance compared to the TS2 ( I think there was only a yard in it mind you )

Plus the TSi2 was pretty much matched up to the same spec as what I had my current driver so not really any point shelling out £500 for a new one

So what Paul did was have a look at my 3 wood which I have tried numerous brands and makes and I always go back to my first ever 3 wood a swoosh VRS regular shaft thing.

what he did there was just wow!! I needed a 3 wood I could hit as well as I hit my driver and he found it the TSi2 and obviously sent me all the details so I could go and purchase it.

Paul did say that he would like another go at trying to beat the TS2 and that it hadn’t happened to him on a fitting before and said to book in when I’m available again but I may just skip the TSi and wait for the next one in a couple years

But that’s just my experience of having a fitting.

Good luck no matter what you decide
