Just back from a great fitting session with Andrew Plint at the National Fitting Centre at St Ives. I’d recommend everyone to get fitted with the new T irons as the options now available to the fitters are seemingly endless.
For people wanting the exec summary I’ve moved towards a blended set which the new design of the T irons makes for a more seemless look in the bag. T250 in the 4 and 5 with T150 for 6 through PW with Mitsubishi MMT AMC Blue 85g stiff shafts.
I was fitted by a very dedicated and patient Andrew Plint who really knows his stuff and makes you feel very comfortable hitting your Titleist ball of choice. We started with my current 7 iron a 2023 T150 fitted with a regular Mitsubishi graphite shaft. We then moved through the whole range of new irons from T100 to T350 including the new T250* and using the new Mitsubishi MMT AMC Blue regular shaft. The T100 was surprisingly comparable to my current T150. To cut a long thread short we settled on deep diving into the new T150 and T250.
The fitting options now available with loft and head weight changes is bewildering. However Andrew kept me focused on the task in hand and after seeing an 8 yard gain in carry with the T150 7 iron settled on this as the basis for my set. The surprise in the package was the significantly tighter dispersion with the MMT AMC Blue 85 gram stiff shaft.
We then needed to decide where to fit for the top end of the bag. After testing and trying all the options from a GT9 wood GT2 and GT3 24* hybrid I found I was much more comfortable with a more traditional iron set up.
Enter the T250U and 505U again with Andrew’s patience and expertise we settled on the regular T250 with the AMC Blue for the 4 and 5 iron. The 6 to PW being the T150.
A brilliant fitting well worth the time to get it right. I was really surprised at how much I gained from the new T irons compared to my 2023 set up. Not only distance but consistency and tighter dispersion.
Thank you Andrew.
