  1. Hi TT members,

Just a quick message to see how your home golf course is holding during these winter months. Managed to play up until the 21 December and then back out on 3rd January.

Wet under feet but we are still golfing in Wales

I'm in the Midland and we've been very wet, closed a fair bit too. but int he process of a new irrigation system being installed and a lot of woodland work being done, the coarse is getting messed up with lots of plant moving around. Hopefully dryer weather will help the recovery

Peterborough Milton is holding up really well.

Greens have been good, could do with an iron but I’m guessing the Greenkeepers have everything under control.

No surface water which is always a good sign the course is draining well, but have closed the course when we have had some serious Down pours.

We have a trolley ban at the moment an if your happy to carry your getting more golf which is always good.
  4. Good to hear courses are still playable.

️ I’m a member at Close House - Northumberland. The course up until last weekend was in fantastic shape. No water underfoot after the cold snap at the start of January. Rain last week made conditions a little boggy this weekend!

Due to play Wednesday this week, but imagine it will be very soggy after a big downpour last night and more forecast for tomorrow.

Interesting to hear about courses having a trolley ban. I think this is a good idea. At my club, Trolleys are permitted with winter wheels (which has been the case since late October), but I feel this still causes some damage.
  5. We played Close House with TT a couple of years ago, great course and a great event. A couple of days later Peter Finch and Lee W made a video of them on the course - which might have explained why the course looked absolutely stunning whilst we were there.

It had rained the night before we played from memory and it was damp under foot, but nothing to spoil the day
