Not sure why I received this grip. I thought these were reserved for demo/fitting clubs. Anyway, I ordered an SM8 Wedge from my local club. I was told at that time Titleist was shipping those in 3-5 days. Over the course of 6-8 weeks I would ask the guys in the pro shop periodically if it was in yet and always got the usual "not yet but we'll call and check". Last week I was contacted via e-mail that it had finally arrived and I could come and get it. When I went in the pro shop the guy working the counter grabbed the box which had not been opened until then. In the box was a new Vokey SM8 Wedge with the loft/grind I ordered but the Red/Black Tour Velvet 360 Flat Cap grip was not installed and attached via a rubber band to the shaft. The other pro shop guys were as confused as I was why Titleist would not install the grip but offered to do it if I left the club with them. I declined and took the club home. Now I'm researching this color combo and seeing it may be not be a "for sale" item. Should I be concerned I received something I shouldn't have? I know I could buy a new grip to match the rest of my clubs and this would be a non-issue but would the serial number show this club belongs to a Titleist staffer, fitter, or club pro by chance?
