You should look at the 716 CB irons. As someone that has played every iteration of Titleist club, including the 690, I can tell you that the new CBs outperform the 690 in every way.

I would recommend the 915D2 head over the D4 only because of it's forgiveness. Can't help you on the shaft though. The shaft is a tricky subject!
