I would def recommend getting along to one
I played down there around the same time last year. I'd second the caddy suggestion. I'd also say to practice putting up through the fringe (not pretty but easier to hold some of the table top greens).

Another tip - drag the club back on the take away brushing the grass for about 6 inches, and slow down your back swing. Tempo is everything and a lot of the time thin shots are the result of taking it back too fast.... hope this helps!
