Mine came in the mail Thursdsay and I was able to play one Friday. Temps were in the 42-48 deg. range and the wind was usually 10+ mph.
I had the red numbered edition and it was spectacular. Good distance, terrific green side control, wonderful to putt and very stable in the air. At the end of 18 holes I could not find a scratch or any type of blemish. I will put the same ball into play Monday.

I decided to test the ProV1 test balls sent by playing it along a new ProV1 balls I had. Alternating odd-even the reserving odd-even on the next round. I did notice the test ball was definitely a little longer and did seem to have a higher ball flight. As there were numerous occasions to plat two balls a hole. Thanks for sending

Thanks for the sleeve of TEST balls; my first testing opportunity. They performed slightly better than the 2014 Pro V1 model I've been using all summer. The distance seemed longer and played just as soft as the Pro V1. The shell hasn't scratched at all during any of the 4 rounds. Best ball I've played; look forward to hearing from you with the "new" name of this test ball for future purchases. Thanks again,

If you ever design a softer Pro V1x with an extra layer, would love to try it.

How is this for retro, the ProV1x and make the V a roman numeral script to indicate 5 layers!!!!

This was my first round of test Balls from Titleist, and I must say it felt pretty cool. I normally play the ProV1x ball and love it. I was able to hit the test ball on average 10 yards further than the pro V1x, but the test ball felt very hard and lacked in control around the green. The best part of the test ball was how far and straight I was able to hit it. I don't think I would move away from the Pro V1x ball to the test ball simply due to the playability around the green. Thank you very much for including me in this test. It was a lot of fun, and who doesn't like to get free golf stuff! :-)

Great ball for my game. I normally play the Pro Vx. Slightly lower ball flight, but not enough to affect control. This ball felt softer off of all clubs. Very similar distance, a touch longer off the woods and long irons. Good spin control on short game play. I was able to hit lower punches that would two hop and stop, yet was able to pull it back on fuller shots when necessary. The ball also felt softer putting than the x but responded well and rolled smoothly. I quite enjoy playing the test balls I received and would definitely play it regularly. Thank you for the opportunity to test this equipment.

Additional comments: Shot 40/43 in rain and 30-40 mph gusts on the south shore of Long Island; a most major accomplishment compared with my boys with same index coming in at 90+; $$$.

Also had a rain shortened 38 front yesterday; same rain storm caught us on 3 through 9. Thanks Titleist!!!

Just received the Test balls and the NE weather turned against golf. Probably won't be playing until I get to FL in a couple of months. I'll try them there.

I have participated in a number of these tests over the years. I always wondered what the results might be. Some balls seemed like I was just hitting a rock, others just seemed perfect. I was very pleased to receive my sleeve of Velocities a few weeks ago. Our course opens next week and I look forward to hitting the new generation.

I didn't feel or see much difference off the tee. Where I did feel a slight difference with these test balls was around the green. I always play the prov1 black. For me I had a bit more feel and softness from 60 yards and in. I liked the new ball very much. Thank you titleist. Hope to test more new products in the future.

  11. Compared the test ball against Bridgestone 330 and found longer drives and sweet softness putting. Titleist you continue to be the best. Golfdawg.

Got my sleeve Friday, played today. Red numbers so I assume ProV1x 7.1 hcp, low 100's swing speed. Cold in Ohio, 45 at tee time, not a lot of wind but some gusting. The ball was great. Impressively long for the weather, and dead true lines. Despite some windy gusts I never lost the ball offline when I struck it well. Shot 82 despite not playing particularly well and that's due to no lost balls and the misses staying pretty close to the original target.

    Excellent product, would definitely buy.

I enjoy the prototypes Titleist always sends. I recently received the latest sleeve of balls and simply loved them! They are durable but made me feel like I could control the flight of the ball better than some other balls I've used. I liked the feel of them coming off my putter face. The weather was a bit cool out but it didn't seem to affect the distance I was getting off the tee.
    Keep it up, Titleist!

Hi Mike, Over the past several years I was given the opportunity two times to test a Titleist golf ball. On both occasions I like the ball very much, unfortunately, the ball was only marked "test" so I had no idea what version of a Titleist ball it was so that I could purchase some more. I mentioned this in my review but never heard from anyone. I don't mind that it says test, but at least tell me if it is a version I can buy and if so which one. Thanks

Loved the golf balls very resilient and durable. Bounced off cart path a few times and could hardly tell. Anxious to see what is in store for 2017

Got mine Friday and played today. 7.1 hcp low 100's swing speed. Cold in Ohio, not a lot of wind but occasional gusts. Red number so I assume ProV1x. I'm normally not an x player.

Ball was great. Handled the wind well, both in terms of distance hitting into it but also high irons hit up in the air. Ball had impressive distance and was dead online all day. I struck the ball ok but even my misses were very manageable - the biggest key to scoring well.

Overall great ball and I would definitely buy it.

I really liked the golf ball. It was a nice soft feel and I was able to spin it when hitting with my wedges. I felt the distance I hit it was similar to the ProV1x. I also hit it in the fairway with a little draw.
