I'll play it until it looks really bad.
  2. I usually use one until it is lost or the ball loses performance due to scuffs or nicks. I rarely go a whole round without losing at least one. I think has a lot to do with the fact that i'm a 9 handicap and I like to take too many risks out there.

water comes into play on 13 out of the 18 holes on our home course.., needless to say I play the same ball as long as I can.., usually two balls per round
  4. Depends on the round if it is a tournament or practice. If it's a tournament until I scuff it or the ball loses its performance. While for practice I will use it until I lose it
  5. Like Gabriel, I play mine until I can't find it again...

Mine usually gets lost before it wears out too much. Definitely not a candidate for durability tester here. Lol
  7. I will finish a round with a ball if it gets slightly scuffed up. But hate to start a new round with anything other than a pristine ball. Of course I average losing at least a ball a round so some days it's not even an option!

Seeing as how I do hit one in the woods or water from time to time, it works well for me to start each round with a fresh ball and keep the slightly used ones in the bag to be provisionals or to finish a round after losing the new one. At $4 a pop I'm not going to throw one away unless the damage is worse than a few cosmetic scratches.

    Until it’s lost..........which is usually one a game.....at least.
  9. I often make it through 18 with out loosing a ball but very rarely without scuffing it. I would have to say 12 holes. I find lots of new looking ones though as a walk along the hazards and woods. I like finding balls and have 100s of ProV1s that look new.

I will play a ball until either I lose it in the woods or water or until it is scuffed too much or cut (yes that still happens), Absent loss, and not playing a match or other competition, I'll play a ball about 3 rounds, then retire it to the shag bag or for use in non competitive rounds.

I play the Prov1 and I would witch out after 54 holes. However, I don't usually have 1 ball for that long as I lose it at some point :). Any longer than that and perhaps I would just keep using it as it may have good luck.

There's no formula for me. It might get scuffed and I'll stick it in my shag bag. It might just be an unlucky little $&%@ and I'll abandon it out of unmitigated hatred...
  13. I play mine as long as possible obviously.. or until they get cart path marks or get some scuffs. If I’m lucky 1-2 rounds then I put them in my practice bag and use them to chip with at the range.

I normally wont go over 72 holes
  15. 36 to 54 holes...OR..until it gets "washed" or goes for a hike in the woods.
  16. My current yellow ProV1x is at 5 rounds and going strong...well, at least it's going. It still has a little wedge scuff it picked up on the 6th hole of its first round. But after yesterday there are several spots that I can't quite get clean even with soap and warm water under the sink at home. I think the rather poor quality, gritty sand in our bunkers is taking its toll.

But I'm kind of proud of my little yellow trouper. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I do take it out of play for one hole every round, there's an approach shot that's usually 150-something yards over water hitting off a downslope. I tee off with an old AVX on that hole just because I tend to dunk one in the pond every 2-3 rounds. Guess I ought to start laying up or something...tough hole. I mean go figure, a 17-handicapper who has trouble hitting mid-iron shots from tight lies on downslopes. Wish Titleist would invent a ball that always finds a flat spot to stop rolling.
  17. Usually after it gets scuffed to the point where i think it will affect while putting or ball flight.
  18. until scuffed or lost usually, or if i have a bad hole I will switch it out to "change my luck".

Just played Sand Valley, Mammoth Dunes, and The Sandbox this weekend and used the same ball. Virtually impossible to loose a ball at that place. No water and very few trees in play. Lots of sand but easy to find the ball in there.

There are times that I would lose a ball or two on the same hole or sometimes one in a round, but not always. For those balls that stays, I'd play it till I don't like it anymore- I chuck it into shag bag and chip with them.
