    Hey Team Titleist - 

    This morning, we introduced our new AP1 Smoke Limited Edition irons! To quote our Vice President of Golf Club Marketing, Josh Talge: 

    “We’re introducing the Smoke finish as a test run because golfers have been asking us for it,” Talge said. “We've seen a trend in players gravitating toward the darker finishes in our Vokey SM6 wedges and many of them have asked if we'll ever bring those types of finishes to our iron line. Smoke is our first experiment. Not only does it have a great look, but for many golfers it will also make the club appear smaller at address. It’s really a great option for those players who want all the benefits of a game improvement iron but want to look down and see something more slim and compact.”

    Only 500 limited edition sets are available beginning today, so be sure to reach out to your local Titleist golf shop. 

    As an AP1 player, I know I want one ...

    When did the AP1s become available in the Smoke finish? I must have been sleeping or just plain not paying attention! I've been going back and forth about upgrading to the 716 AP1s in a month or so or waiting, this available option might make me go all in now....unless this will continue to be an available option going forward!

    Barry - They were released today. If this is something that you are interested in, you better act fast as only 500 sets were made and I would expect them to sellout quickly.

    Those are some nice looking irons, I've never had glare issues with my 714's but I do like the look. I hope there are some demo clubs at the dealers to take a look at up close.

    Those look very nice hopefully this will gain traction and the 718 line for all sets will have the option.

    They look great! I saw it earlier on my phone. This looks awesome. I'm sure it looks even better in person.

    I think it's a great idea. Tbh, I would totally use it for my 8i and 9i (all my 4 wedges are vokeys). Would be a little concerned about the longer irons because, like you said Abby, it does make the clubhead seem smaller (Hence why I LOVE my 915 D3 ;). Good concept that seems may take off with the Titleist family.

    These guys look great - i love the finish on them. It would be great to see on other irons in the line up to! I can imagine how good they would look on the neat and tidy MB or CB head.

    I agree with that sentiment. the Smoke colored Vokey wedges have the same aesthetic feel. It would be nice to have the same color all the way through the set.

    The smoke finish really looks sharp. Hopefully the test will go well and this finish can be expanded to the entire line when the 918 irons are introduced.

    I've always liked the look of a darker iron. Hopefully this will come to the entire lineup, I'm sure it would be a great seller.
