    Did you have them re-fit?

As far as I know, TM and Titleist have the same basic shaft lengths and lie angles.

Also remember that game improvement irons have bigger heads. That would even include tolerance for a club not exactly fit properly. Lie angle and shaft length adjustments have to be more precise with player irons. I have an AP2 8 iron and an AP1 iron. I also have Apex Plus 7-E irons. The AP2 is +1/2" length and has Project X 6.0. The AP1 has R300 and the Apex' have #4 shafts (stiff). I hit the AP2 the same distance as the Apex Plus 7 iron and the AP1 has a middle distance between the 7 and 8 Apex'. I've played the AP1 as much as 1 degree flat from what it is now; still able to hit straight. With the AP2 zeroed in, I get the tightest shot pattern.

Some of the fitters please feel free to jump in.

Are the AP2's the correct length / lie, have the clubs been checked? (I am assuming you have been fit someplace?)
  3. I appreciate all the feedback and responses. This is what makes golf a wonderful game. I did have the AP2s Custom fit by my PGA professional for those asking. Not going to give up on them yet. I’ll consult my PGA professional again for a tune up or 2.

Did you get fit for the AP2? Sounds like you may have a shaft, swing weight, lie, loft issues. I would see a certified fitter or a PGA Professional.
  5. i'll admit i had to google "GI" - haha. and what everyone is trying to say is AP2s are "SI" clubs. swing improvement versus game improvement. you need to improve your swing in order to play those clubs.

as some have said, take some lessons... or go back to your Burners and focus on your short game and get your handicap even lower!
  6. Hi there, I have had my 714 AP2's since 2014 and my miss has always been out on the toe. I was recently fit at Club Champion and I mentioned this to the fitter and after a few shots with tape on the face of what will be my new 718 AP2 set-up he decided to make the lie a bit more flat and bam, strikes in the center. I can't wait for my new sticks to arrive. I would echo all the comments about being properly fit. I love my AP2's and I am glad the new one's worked out best for me, it's worth it to go have them checked out again and be honest with the fitter about what you are trying to accomplish and make that swing. Just my two cents.
  7. I don’t know if you were fitted for your irons? You stated a lot of toe hits? One thing I have noticed with my swing, I should say, did notice, before I corrected it. If I did hit it off the toe, my weight was more on my heels, instead of my weight being balanced. Since i’ve Focused on that, the toe hits have stopped
