  1. Definitely either TPC Sawgrass or Harbour Town.

My favorite non-major is the Valero Texas Open. It's not so much about the field, it's usually not super strong...but I live nearby, they do free admission and a meal for veterans, and I play at TPC San Antonio quite a bit...so it's fun to go there and see the pros playing that tough Oaks Course. San Antonio is also a nice place to visit to round out the trip.

Scottish open @ renaissance in Scotland, great links course with changeable conditions throughout the tournament where players not only play the course the deal with what nature throws at them.
  4. 3M- although its in the heat of summer in MN, always fun to watch players grind.

The Players at Sawgrass is tops on my list! If The Players now counts as a "major", I would then pivot and say that the ATT at Pebble Beach is the best non-major - love that the amateurs get out there and compete!

I know August in North Carolina can be hot and sticky but The Wyndham in Greensboro is always a fun hang!
