Hello. I was wondering what everyone thought about wearing a glove while you play. In my opinion I prefer to wear a glove because I feel I can grip the club just as well, and will not get any blisters.
What do you think?

I typically do not wear a glove unless it is cold or very hot and humid. In those conditions I need the glove to provide a better grip on the club.

I wear my glove all the time.. The only time it comes off is when i'm walking to my ball or putting....

No glove. I used to wear one, but I had a tendency to grip the club to tightly. So I removed the glove added Golf Pride MCC grips and all got better. This thread had gotten me thinking... Now that I have gotten my new AP1s and they have tour velvets on them, something seems off. I wonder if that is it.

I prefer to wear a glove when golfing, gives me a feeling of a more stable and secure grip, with lighter grip pressure.

I will wear a glove (FootJoy) for full swings then take it off for putting/touch shots around the green. After playing with a glove so long it feels strange making full swings without one!

For me, glove on for most shots, except for pitch shots and bunker shots. The "feel" shots just work better for me with bare hands.

Glove for all shots except putts. I do take it off between shots though - trying to keep it as dry as possible.

I wear a glove for every shot except a putt. My grip pressure is always less with the glove.

I wear my FJ glove unless I'm putting. And I also take off my wedding band to prevent a blister.

I wear a Titleist Players Flex. Pretty much for every shot except a putt. Sometimes I'll take it off for chips. And I usually take it between shots, especially once it gets hot down here.

No glove.... Be like Ben Hogan, build the feel!

Glove, without question on every shot other than anything with very soft finesse around the green and putts.

I always wear a glove unless I'm putting or chipping. I've grown accustomed to the additional thickness so playing without one just feels off, but also my hands get very sweaty during the summer months so gloves are a necessity for me.

I don't wear one. I had worn my last glove out and just got lazy and never bought another one. I have never noticed a significant difference. Heck, I don't thing Hogan wore one and there is no player I respect more.

A glove is the only way here in Florida. Plus you get a cool ball mark with them.

I figure if Mr. Hogan didn't wear a glove, I don't need to either. On wet/sloppy/rainy days I will drag the wet grip gloves out and wear 'em both, but don't like it 'cuz I tend to grip the club in my palm rather than with my fingers. On hot sweaty days I used to try to rinse my hands and dry them as often as I could find a water fountain or jug, but after a while I found out that if my hands sweat and I can air dry 'em prior to making a swing I actually get BETTER grip. The salty sweat when dried (or nearly so) actually makes my hands tackier. It's only when it's soooo hot that my hands leak right before gripping the club that I could use a glove (rarely, in other words). Another thing, I found that if I can rinse my forearms or cool 'em off with a wet/icy towel it immediately lowers my core and extremity (hands for instance) temperature.
So, all in all - no glove at least about 99% of the time.

Hello Jack K, I do not wear glove at all unless it is raining then maybe ill wear one. For me I use the Golf Pride Cp2 Midsize grips on my woods and the white golf pride multi compound mid size grips for my irons. I feel that when I wear a glove the club has a tendency to slip or roll over to much. When you speak about getting blisters when not using a glove that may be an issue of how much procedure you are using. I have never got any blisters out playing for about 15 years now and that is just holding the club at a normal grip and not over doing it. Possibly look at upgrading your grips to a midsize and see if that helps, its the little things that help in golf, and we all can attest to that.

I wear a glove for all full shots, but the glove comes off for short pitches, chipping and putting.

No glove for me unless it is really raining outside and I am having trouble with my grip. However, I keep a pair of FJ rain gloves in my bag at all times in case that happens.

The only time I don't wear a glove is chipping around the green or while I am putting.
