We have a regular game with 3 players and play a "canadian". Their are 6 points on each hole, the winner would get 4 and next lowest gets 2, loser none, or split with same scores. Winner has most points at the end.

I just play a simple game with the friends I play with. We play a modified skins game for a dollar a hole par or better no carry over. Also play five dollar birds, dollar greenies on par 3's (must make par), dollar sandies, and dollar each for front, back, and overall. Usually is pretty even so no one ends up paying out a ton, mostly for bragging rights. Unless you can drop a couple birds, that is usually where the money is made if any.

I like skins games with carry overs especially when there are three or four foursomes. Also like Pivot Man where you have a different partner every six holes.

"Close Out" is one of my favorite games especially if I am preparing for a match play tournament.

Basically two people or four people playing best ball compete against each other hole by hole. There are no carryovers, you either win, tie or lose hole. If you win, you get a point, if you tie no points, etc..usually if you are matched with another player you will go to the 17th or 18th hole before the match is determined...lots of good competition. You can add a wager component to it where the first match is worth, lets say $3 and then once someone is closed out, you begin a second match for $2.
