New 2026 AVX Golf Balls (Official Review Thread)

    Earlier this summer, a number of Team Titleist members tested White Box prototype golf balls. Those prototypes ultimately became the New 2026 AVX golf balls. 

    For anyone curious about how the ball performed in the wild before launch, this thread collects player feedback across feel, flight, spin, distance, and consistency. If you’ve since picked up the new AVX and taken it out for a spin, we’d still love to hear your thoughts as well.

    We would specifically love to hear about the following performance characteristics: 

    • Feel: putter, wedges, and full shots

    • Flight: launch, trajectory, and wind performance

    • Spin: short game control and stopping power

    • Distance & Consistency: off the tee and through the bag

    A few tips when posting:

    • Share your handicap or general skill level for context

    • Be specific (comparisons to your current gamer are helpful)

    I am a 14 index and received ProV1x which I always play. Greenside play and spin rate was great and I certainly love this version of the ball.

    I received a white box of 3 balls with PROTO written on but no paperwork included! Guessing it's part of some testing project. I played 9 holes yesterday, my Handicap Index is currently 10.6 and I played to 3 over for 9 holes. The ball flew great (was very warm) and landed on the green, stopping a couple of inches from the pitch mark. First outing and I loved it, hoping its an AVX!!

    I'm playing to a 10.7 and also play the AVX. The Prototype ball I was sent played just like the AVX. Very happy with its characteristics.

    One of my buddies got some and said he loved the feel of both of them. I hit some wedges with them and instantly fell in love!

    Received the white box prototype. Female 75 yrs. old. 25 handicap and play go.my comments: I normally play soft or super soft. I didn’t get the distance off the tees with the prototype but I like the feel at 1OO yards in and around the green had a crisp feel. Putting more firm than I like. All in all, was a good ball but firmer feel than I like.

    I'M 82 AND FIGURED YOU WOULDN'T BE INTERESTED IN MY FEEDBACK. I UNDERSTAND. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THE 2023 PRO VI AND LIKE IT. I ONLY PLAY 9, BUT, CARRY 8 CLUBS AND THE WALK DOES ME GOOD EVEN IF I NO LONGER HIT IT LIKE I USED TOO. MY AVERAGE SCORE IS 45. I PLAY THE 915, 9.5 DRIVER AND THE 915, 16.5 FAIRWAY, THE 716 MB 6-PW AND A 56 VOKEY WEDGE, AND A NAPA OR TOUR ONLY NEWPORT 2 SCOTTY PUTTER. I KNOW I AM DUE, BUT, QUESTION IF I NEED TO UPGRADE AT HIS STAGE OF MY LIFE.

    Received the prototype balls and felt they were similar to the AVX. A little crispier and less soft than either ProV1 or Prov1x. Not too spinny and held up well after hitting some branches. Very cool to be able to test. Had family test one and they agreed (I have some + index kids and wondered what their thoughts were). Love this program.

    Was lucky enough to receive the proto white box this year. Very consistent trajectory off the club face on all types of shots. The stopping, and backspin when landing on the green was better then the typical AVX i play which was really nice rather then rolling out to much.

    The ball felt very good. It felt like a distance ball; I had several good drives with it. It felt soft on the Greens; I had 2 very good puts with it. I was able to get a couple of good shots with my gap wedge and stopped nicely in the greens. I think that this is a good product. I still have 2 brand new balls left which I will use at my next golf outing in September.

    I am a 9.7 handicap and I play the AVX 95% of the time. I tested the proto type balls and I was thoroughly impressed! These balls are 10yds longer off my irons and 15-20yds longer off the driver. They have excellent feel and are easy to control! Great spin around the greens too! I don't know if it's going to be an improved pro v or avx but either one would be an upgrade! I really want to know as these will be my new choice in balls!
