Hope all goes well Chuck. The good Lord meant for you to be on the course with a club in your hand, and you will be back. Just keep posting with updates and your usual knowledgeable insights. Make sure that surgeon is a golfer so he knows the expectations he's dealing with.

He has has performed this proedure on a great number of golfers and comes highly recommended. I have been under his care for 2.5 years, thru referrals for pain manement referrals, PT. etc. This was a big decision and necessary. I have degenertive back issues and scoliolis. L4 and L5 have just given way. He made sure to state that PT and walking was important in the recovery. To ensure that we get to a good PT that works with golfers, to develop a strong core and get me back to good health. Will I be able to walk and play golf, probably not, due to respiratory issues, but should be able to play golf again. Told him that sounds promising, cause I sure can't play right now. Thanks to everyone who responded. The Doc knows best and Connye will be my wing person. We have a 10 day cruise planned to the British Isles in July and relly want to be ready to walk that path where the Beatles grew up in Liverpool and see the Lock Ness monster in Scotland. Family trip, no golf. Hope to make a TT event next year and see some old acquaintances. At this age, living with these ailments sure beat the alternative. My wife keeps saying. Thanks to everyone for your words of encouragement.

For those of you who have to take a cart, get a letter from your doctor stating that. When I anticipate playing a course that is walking only. I call in advance and they sometimes will let me play it as long as a long I take a caddie and he/she drives the cart on the course. Of course, there is a fee for the cart and caddie. Depends on how bad you want to play the course. Haknuna matata.

Best of luck Chuck. I had L4/5 surgery a few years back. Listen to the Physio and the Doc and you will be playing golf sooner than later.

Got to agree with your bad news/good news assessment, Chuck. Be a good patient, as well as being very patient with the entire process. I know it sounds like a long haul, but I'm sure that both you and Connye think it's time and it's all for the best. Look forward to seeing you on the course again in the future..

Got the good news late yesterday afternoon. October 15th. Reporting at 6am for surgery, with two night stay. Connye and I are really excited. = ) Hopefully will be able to use out tickets to one of our Broadway Play series tickets to The Sound of Music and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert at our local music hall later in October and in early November. Life is about staying busy as a senior. Musicals, travel and golf.

Have been catching up on all my chores this week. Resting today and getting ready for the surgery in the morning. Really looking forward to the procedure and the positive results I am anticipating after the PT and rehab. Spring 2026 is like a new awakening for me and I am really excited. We have family trips planned for England, Ireland and Scotland in July on the Celebrity Cruise Lines (10 days) and heading up the Michigan area in August, which will include Green Bay and Mackinaw/Mackinaw Island (8 day tour). Looking forward to the TT annual happening im 2026. Please make it a walking event. Really sad that I missed the Ireland trip at the last minute. Mr Covid paid me a visit three days before I was to leave. Will be in the hospital for a couple of nights. My computer room is upstairs, so do not know when doctor will let me come up here, so Ya'all behave now, ya hear. Hakuna matata.
