TT Members, I might be in a position where I need to burn some vacation time before April 1, 2019. I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada and want to know some good places to spend 5-7 days practicing and playing. Looking for a resort type location where I can spend my time relaxing and working on my game. I haven't played since October so a good practice facility would be nice. I've done a little research and Sea Island Georgia looks nice.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, Ryan

California is a great choice with world class golf. The Coachella Valley would be great for you and your family, and you’d be about 2 hours from Disneyland and Knots Berry Farm if needed. Maybe go play the courses the PGA is playing this week...

Oh, not to mention TPI if you need a fitting and the Scott Cameron Galley are all here too.

Probably an easier getaway to stay in the southeast from where you are. The further south, the better given your timeline to go before April. If it's golf only, no family, head to Streamsong FL. Nothing but great golf there so if you need a balanced trip for wife/family try Doral or Sawgrass. Lots of golf in Orlando with stuff for family to do. Have fun and don't forget to pack the suntan lotion.

Might consider True Blue and Caledonia Golf and Fish in Pawleys Island, SC. Both courses are worth playing. That's a few miles south of Myrtle Beach. If you are looking for some instruction Steve Dresser Golf School is located there. If you are looking for a fitting would recommend Bill Forbes, Titleist Certified Fitter. Very nice area and a great greataway. Fly into Myrtle Beach airport and a short drive down the coast.
  7. Whirlwind down here in Chandler AZ. Two great courses, practice facilities, couple nice resorts next to it, + other entertainment right there.

PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL. Plenty of lodging, stay and play packages, 54 great holes of golf and the PGA Center for Learning and Performance, a world class practice facility. If you're driving, it's right off exit 121 on I-95. See pgavillage.com.

I have to 2nd what Dale said. Streamsong is a fantastic resort. 3 courses, nice practice facility, pretty cool hotel and some good restaurants to eat at. But that's it. Outside of that there is NOTHING for miles but it's worth checking out.

Only other place is Pinehurst. Great courses around that area.
  10. Depending on how far you want to travel I would say Florida or Palm Desert. The spring weather in Palm desert is great and theres no shortage of golf courses or great places to eat.

If you have never been to Jekyll Island Georgia, do yourself a favor and check it out. This is one of my favorite places.
Quiet calm and very friendly people. There are two golf courses and very nice practice facilities.
    Just a thought..
    Cheers

Before April 1 - to now can make a difference. NC/SC (Pinehurst/Kiawah Island) and Alabama (RTJ) sites become more temperate after March 1st. For the next 3 weeks, most of Florida will be warm enough to enjoy. I've been in Charleston, SC where it was below 50 in late February. Below seasonal average but that didn't make it any warmer. Unless of course 45-50 is so much better than Prince Edward Island, be sure to check the seasonal average temperature where you are looking.

Thanks so much for all of your opinions.

The trip would be only for me as I don't have a wife or any kids.

No need for any fitting options as I had one last year and have new 718 AP2 irons and 818 hybrids and will be getting fit for a new TS Driver and SM 7 Wedges sometime before I go.
Just looking for a place to practice, play and relax.

Streamsong seems like a good option as do all of the others.
Keep them coming as I'll be looking to go sometime late in March.

    All the best,
    Ryan

Since its just you, La Cantera or TPC in San Antonio TX are good in early spring spots. Both have 2 courses, good practice areas, nice hotels, and lots to see and do in the city if you venture out.

I don't think going from Canada to Pennsylvania in March will get him the weather relief he is looking for.
